Head Chef

We want to become as well known for our food offering as we are for our fantastic accommodation and unique location. We're on the lookout for a Head Chef to help make this happen.

Our successful, independent holiday business occupies a stunning location at the foot of Ben Nevis in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. We take pride in the quality of the service we provide and promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for the benefit of our employees and guests.

Although close to Fort William, we have a fantastic rural location in a Highland Glen, where we also own a small estate.  It's our aim to manage our landholding using rewilding principles to promote biodiversity and carbon sequestration.

About the Job

You will be leading the food side of our holiday business. This currently includes a restaurant, bar and takeaway outlet and occasional pop outlets/ events.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that each outlet sufficiently staffed and stocked.

  • All stock / ordering, menu & dish costings

  • Service is organised and runs smoothly on every shift.

  • You will lead, manage and train your team.

  • Ensure we are always compliant in H&S and Food Safety.

  • Work closely with the General Manager and promote a “one team” way of running the F&B business

About You

  • You are naturally passionate about food and your creativity is reflected on the plate.

  • You are used to delivering quality food to big cover numbers (300+), consistently.

  • You are passionate about delivering great food and exceptional guest experiences. 

  • You will be able to demonstrate creativity in development of specials.

  • Deliver KPI’s on including GP, Labour & Food/Health & Safety

  • You're an experienced leader with a track record of forming and managing successful teams.

  • You will to be ‘hands on’ and get stuck in, as well as being able to ensure the admin tasks are complete  

  • You've got entrepreneurial energy and can think creatively.

  • You will have a background in quality food outlets.
