Glen Nevis

Our campsite has a fantastic position in the heart of Glen Nevis with a great selection of nearby walks.

Ben Nevis, the River Nevis, Woodland Walks, Steall falls, Highland Wildlife, Mountain Streams, historic sites - all available from your tent.

Climbing Ben Nevis

We are located at the foot of Ben Nevis and are a short walk from the 'tourist path' to the summit. It's a great climb and the views from the top on a clear day are amazing.

However, it's very important that you follow the safety information in the leaflet below and we recommend that you visit the nearby Glen Nevis Visitor Centre for more information on current climbing conditions before you set off.

Testimonials

"This site is in a great location at the foot of Ben Nevis, there are restaurants within walking distance and walks around the campsite. The site itself is lovely and spacious, the views are stunning and we would definitely return. There is a very well stocked shop and the staff are very friendly and helpful.”

CampManager April 2023

"Stayed in our motorhome on a fully serviced pitch for 3 nights as part of our Scotland tour. Pitch was lovely…..views stunning and facilities were good. Great childrens’ play park like new our 4yr old loved it, dog friendly with plenty of walks.
Location was great as a base; a must do is Steall Falls; we went with 2 dogs and a 4yr old completing a hike of 7 miles but everyone had fun as there was some much climbing, scrambling to be done like a child’s natural playground.”

Children's Play Areas

A super Play Park plus lots of open spaces are provided in our the camping and touring park. There are further open level grassed areas and a wild flower heather meadow near the self-catering accommodation.

Midges

Midges can be a pest in the mornings and evenings of the summer months. Our shop sells a fantastic range of citronella candles, natural skin balms, sprays and anti midge head nets that calm and soothe, and create a barrier if you find them a nuisance.

Camp Fires & BBQs

Open fires are not permitted on the park. We do allow small enclosed fires such as chimineas/braziers provide you can find a spot that is at least 5 metres away from any other tents.

BBQs are permitted and our park benches have a heat proof mat for disposable BBQs.

Outlets to charge phones or devices

Suitable for phones, ipads, or kindles, we have free to use chargeable mobile phone lockers at the Deer Park Laundry block. Each locker can charge up to 3 x devices. Super simple to use lockers - you simply set your own 4 digit code to lock the unit whilst your device is charging. There is a 3pin plug and 2 USB ports.

Ticks

Ticks live in many different outdoor environments such as woodland, moorland and grassy areas. You may therefore get a tick bite if you take part in activities such as hiking, cycling or camping.

Wearing clothing that covers your skin, including tucking trousers into socks, makes it more difficult for ticks to access a suitable place to bite. Use good insect repellent and consider wearing light coloured clothing so that you can easily spot ticks and brush them off. After spending time outside, check yourself, your clothing, your pets and others for ticks. Remove the  attached tick as soon as you find it using tick removal tweezers.

Tick cards, tick tweezers, natural antiseptic creams and gels are all splendid armoury to pick up in our campsite shop!

Fishing

Our Highland Estate has the fishing rights for the river Nevis and you can buy fishing (catch and release) permits for 1 day (£15), 3 days (£35) or 6 days (£60). The season runs from 15th April to the 30th September. Enquire at our reception for more details and to buy a permit.

Glen Nevis Estate

Guests are welcome to explore all 1000 acres of the Glen Nevis Estate during their stay!

Natural 'wild' areas have been created in the park to provide a habitat for our native flora and fauna, with pathways and picnic areas so guests can enjoy these areas at their leisure.

Walking in Glen Nevis

For the energetic, the footpath up Ben Nevis (highest mountain in the UK) starts from Glen Nevis. The West Highland Way also passes through Glen Nevis at the end of a 95 mile walk from Glasgow.

The Gorge is a fabulous feature of the Glen and provides a spectacular walk through to the higher falls.

The Lower Falls is easily accessed by foot and is a favourite point in the Glen for photographs. There are also gentler riverside walks and numerous quiet forest walks within the Glen. Reception staff will be happy to suggest a walk for you.
